STEVE H. NICKLES
Steve H. Nickles is the C.C. Hope Chair in Law and Management at Wake Forest University, where he teaches in the law school and also in the Babcock Graduate School of Management. His specialties in law and his classes at the Wake Forest Law School include commercial law, payment systems, debtor-creditor law and bankruptcy. In the Babcock School he teaches management courses related to these subjects and also courses on ethics and economics. Professor Nickles is heavily involved in efforts throughout Wake Forest to develop and use technology for purposes of education and profession. He is also a senior academic advisor on academic technology to West Group (formerly, West Publishing Company), a leading publisher of law books and on-line legal services.
Professor Nickles has written extensively about commercial law topics. His work includes treatises used by judges and lawyers, textbooks used in law schools, and many articles published mainly in law reviews.
Before moving to Wake Forest, Professor Nickles was the Roger Noreen Chair in Law at the University of Minnesota Law School, where he taught for 13 years. He has also taught in the law schools at the University of Texas and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He holds degrees from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville (B.A., 1971; M.P.A., 1972; J.D., 1975) and Columbia University in the City of New York (LL.M., 1977; J.S.D., 1980).
