Dr. Robert Spangler is an accomplished, innovative Business Technologist with extensive experience leading major online, infrastructure, and cybersecurity initiatives from concept through delivery in a wide range of industries. As a Microsoft certified .NET developer, he is part of the generation of programmers that built the world’s first websites and, essentially, “turned on the internet”.
Widely acknowledged as a technology expert, Dr. Spangler has been awarded two United States patents in Social Media marketing technologies, worked with Google to create one of the world’s first industry-specific search engines, and lectured extensively on the topics of Business Technology and Cybersecurity in New York City, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. He has also contributed to articles in numerous publications (including the Washington Post) and co-wrote “Blockchain Technology – Transforming the Practice of Law and Society as a Whole” with his colleague Lisa W. Spiegel, Esq., which was published in New Jersey Lawyer Magazine in June 2020.
Dr. Spangler is currently the Assistant Executive Director - Operations and Technology for the New Jersey State Bar Association, where he oversees all technology and cybersecurity matters. He is also the owner and CEO of Avtia, LLC, a technology consulting company that he started in 1997.
