Barton is the first to successfully file, serve, and state a legal cause of action against the Vatican for sexual abuse of a minor. He successfully sued Ma Anand Sheela when the Rashneeshees took over the Eastern Oregon town of Antelope in 1985. Barton was the first to recover over $1,000,000 from the Boy Scouts of America for their failure to act against a
sexually abusive scoutmaster. In all, The Barton Firm has over 40 verdicts and
settlements of seven figures or more.
